  1. Open the hood. Pull the hood release under the dashboard and go to the front of the vehicle. Hood release of 2016-2020 Kia Optima. Next, unlock the hood release and pull the hood up until it reaches the maximum, to lock it in the open position.Opened hood of the Kia Optima.
  2. Locate the dust cap of the low beam light on the back of the headlamp assembly lens & housing.The dust cap of the low beam light.
  3. Twist the dust cap counterclockwise and remove it from the headlight.Removing the dust cap of the low beam light.
  4. Reach behind the low beam light bulb and twist the cap counterclockwise to unlock it from the headlight.Removing the low beam light out of the headlight.
  5. Then pull the light bulb out from the headlight.
  6. Remove the light bulb on the connector by unlocking the clip holding the light bulb.Disconnecting the low beam light from the connector.

    Use a pick tool to easily unlock the clip.

  7. Install the new light bulb onto the connector by simply pushing it in.

  8. Line up the light bulb back to the headlight and twist it clockwise to lock it in.Installing the new low beam light to the headlight.
  9. Put the dust cap back on the headlight and twist it clockwise to lock it in its place.Reinstalling the dust cap back to the headlight.
  10. Check the light bulb by turning the low beam light on.
