What you will need
- Turn off the ignition and park your Mazda 5. Place the shifter in Park and set the Emergency Parking brakes.
- Identify the backup light bulb on your Mazda 5.
- Open the liftgate. On the back of the liftgate, you will notice an access panel. Remove the panel using a flat head screwdriver.
- To replace the backup light bulb, you will need to twist it counterclockwise to remove the socket. The bulb itself is pulled straight out of the socket.
If you notice that the backup light bulb still doesn't work after you replace the bulb, it is possible that the fuse is blown.
