The OBD II port on a Kia (Sedona, Sorento, Rio, Optima, Forte etc) is used to plug in a diagnostic scanner to read codes and troubleshoot problems.

Using the OBD-II port you can diagnose the Check Engine Light, Airbag, Transmission, ECU, SRS, ABS. In this article, you will learn how to access the OBDII port on any Kia.

Here are the steps on how to locate the OBD II port on a Kia.

  1. Open drivers door.
  2. Look under the dashboard on the driver's side.
  3. Some models require that you remove the rectangular fuse box cover if there is any.
  4. Locate the OBD2 port on your Kia. The OBD2 port is a black connector. It has 16 pins and it is distinguishable by its trapezoidal shape.

Can't find OBD2 port on my Kia

Open the driver's door and look under the dashboard.

The OBD2 port should be right above the brake pedal hidden at the end of the dashboard trim.

I'm trying to locate the OBD2 port on my 2015 Sedona in order to attach a Progressive 'Snapshot' device. Their website shows a photo of one up under the dash. It is not there. Your website shows it just behind the fuse box cover. It is not there, either. Owner's manual is of no help. I am not an idiot, but I cannot locate it anywhere in that area.

After sometime I think I found it. 2017 Cadensa. I think it is on the inside cover of the fuse box this being the case I cannot plug in the insurance camera and put the cover back on. Any other chooses.
