Mercedes C240 Still in Limp Mode after Several Repairs
Recap/ installed new conductor plate and 13 prong sleeve in transmission/oil level is good and no signs of coolant contamination. Checked tcu connection under passenger floorboard. Clean no signs of any oil. Relearned transmission. Erased all codes. Drove it several times and still the same. Start out in 1st shifts to 2nd won’t shift into 3rd and won’t downshift to 1st. Stuck in second gear. Replaced mass air sensor just to eliminate that as a possibility. Because of the "0" reading below associated with the Pressure of component Y3/6y2 I decided to drop the conductor plate again and check the solenoids. I replaced all of the solenoids and checked the one I installed to make sure they worked. The 13 prong adapter was in good shape. I sprayed the prongs and the female part of the connector real good with electrical contact cleaner prior to hooking everything back up. Sealed everything back up. Put in new transmission fluid (about 4.5 quarts) Started it let it run for a while, made sure all the coders were reset and still the same.
After doing all this when I took off it shifted into 2 gear fairly hard. I had no problems whatsoever with this transmission prior to this happening all at once when I floored it in heavy traffic right when it downshifted. If 3rd gear was out of this transmission wouldn't it at least try to shift to 3rd and then go into limp mode?
The only thing I haven't done anything with is the shifter. However the shifter seems like it is ok; nothing unusual and the reading on the dash is correct as to what gear it is in. Not sure what to try next. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Joe
