Saw your video on the subject that made it look so easy, but the conductor plate connector is stuck in the transmission case when I try to drop the valve body. I'm trying to press it down from above with my fingers but it won't budge. There isn't much room for a pry bar either. Any other suggestions so I don't break it off?

Thank you for reaching out, and we understand the challenge you're facing with the conductor plate connector on your transmission. It can indeed be a delicate task and here are some suggestions to aid in safely navigating this process:

  1. Make sure all bolts are removed.
  2. Before applying force, inspect the area for any clips, bolts, or retainer mechanisms that might be holding the connector in place. Sometimes, there could be a securing element that requires disengagement first.
  3. Slightly wiggle the connector side to side as you apply downward pressure. Often a small amount of movement can free up a stuck connector.
  4. Sometimes, the connector might be seated very firmly due to heat expansion or debris. Apply gentle, but firm pressure while attempting to dislodge the connector. It may take a bit of persistence.
  5. If all else fails, it might be wise to seek the assistance of a professional mechanic who has experience with transmission work and may have specialized tools to address such issues without causing damage.

Lastly view a couple more videos to make sure you got everything.

Well, it ended up breaking off, but not a big deal as I had to replace the conductor plate anyway.
