Penetrating Oil, known as penetrating fluid, is a very low-viscosity oil that can free rusted mechanical parts to remove them.
- The penetrating oil can be used to free rusted mechanical parts. for example, nuts and bolts. so they can be removed. It is capable of penetrating into the narrow space between the threads of two parts.
- It can also be used as a cleaner, however, it should not be used as a general-purpose lubricant or corrosion stopper.
- The use of penetrating fluids as a general purpose lubricant is not recommended because it contains volatile oil content
- As a result, much of the penetrating oil will evaporate in a short amount of time, leaving lubricant residues
