Philips screwdriver

Philips Screwdriver is a tool that has a slot in its top that looks like a cross and removes cross or double-slot screw.

  • The crosshead screw design of the Philips Screwdriver has been used on automated production lines. Henry F. Philips, the inventor, and his major contribution were in developing the crosshead concept that made other screwmakers and automotive companies adopt it.
  • The Philips screw was developed in order to serve as a direct solution to several problems such as slotted screws, preventing slippage and damages to the driver, fastener, high cam out, adjacent surfaces, and difficulty with the driving of powered tools
