Honda Civic Steering Wheel Removal & Replace

This guide shows how to remove and replace the steering wheel on Honda Civic 2012 2013 2014 2015. This is the 9th generation Honda Civic. 

What you will need

Procedure

  1. Park your Honda Civic on level ground. Make sure the wheels are pointing straight forward. Set the parking brakes. 
  2. Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery terminal. 
  3. Wait 15 minutes. 
  4. Remove the access panel on the bottom of the steering wheel and disconnect the airbag wires. 
  5. Loosen the airbag bolts on the side of the steering wheel.
  6. Remove the airbag from the steering wheel. Handle the airbag with care. 
  7. Remove the bolt on the center of the steering wheel with a breaker bar. Have a helper keep the steering wheel in place as you loosen the center bolt. 
  8. Reinstall the new Honda airbag and steering wheel in reverse order. 

Steering angle calibration may need to be carried. Use a Honda Scanner to calibrate the steering angle sensor.
