Rear Seat Removal Instructions Kia Hyundai

This tutorial provides instructions on how to remove the rear seat from Kia and Hyundai vehicles. The seat in the video clip is a 2016 Kia Optima. These instructions will be helpful for owners of other Kia and Hyundai vehicles such as the Optima, Cadenza, Forte, K900, Sorento, Sportage, Sedona, Soul, Elantra, Veloster, Sonata, Azera, Tucson, Santa Fe, Genesis and Equus. If you own any of these vehicles you may find these instructions helpful.
Note that this vehicle has no bolts that you need to remove. Other models may have two 10 mm bolts that need to be removed before you can pull out the rear seat.
How to remove rear seat bench Hyundai / Kia vehicles
Step 1: Disconnected heated seats, if applicable.
If your vehicle has heated rear seats, start by disconnecting the connectors.
Step 2: Remove bolts.
Remove the mounting bolts if applicable. Not all models have these bolts.
Step 3: Remove the rear seat cushion.
If you had bolts you will simply lift the seat forward. If you can find no bolts then try the following to remove the rear seat.
- Lift the front part of the seat to unlatch it.
- Move the seat cushion back towards the trunk then lift up.
Step 4: Reinstall the rear seat
Install the seat in reverse order. Make sure to tighten the bolts to 25 Nm.
