No. While aftermarket speakers may sound better when connected to an amplifier, they will work fine with Hyundai factory stereo / radio. We recommend you stay within the range of RMS required for Hyundai speakers. Keep in mind that lower RMS power range will work better with factory stereo or even aftermarket stereo. If you plan to install an external amplifier you should choose speakers with higher RMS.
The cone may have disconnected or cracked. This will require the speakers to be replaced.
Replacing a bad speaker on a Hyundai can cost between $100 and $300. Upgrading the speakers by a professional can range between $250-$700 depending on the system you select. You can upgrade the Hyundai speakers yourself for less than $150.
