The M273 engine is installed on C43 AMG, SLC43 AMG, and GLC43 AMG. The oil change is part of both A Service and B Service.

Procedure

  1. Drive your Mercedes AMG up on ramps.mercedes up on ramps Watch the video on how to perform this step.

Support the vehicle with jack stands. Never get under a vehicle that is not supported properly by jack stands. secure vehicle with jack stands


Make sure to engage the parking brakes. set parking brakes


Pull the hood release under the dashboard on the driver’s side. You should hear the hood pop open. open hood


Press up on the hood latch at the front and lift the hood. open hood


Remove the splash shield from under the engine. 8mm screws for splash shieldEight 8mm screws need to be removed to drop the splash shield. cover under engine


Locate the 13mm drain bolt at the bottom of the oil drain pan.mercedes c43 amg drain bolt oil change diy

Place the oil drain pan under the engine. Remove the oil drain pan and allow the oil to drain thoroughly.

Replace the copper washer on the oil drain bolt. If you don’t see the copper washer on the drain bolt, it may be stuck on the drain pan. It is important to replace and install a new copper washer to avoid oil leaks.


Remove the engine cover to expose the oil filter.oil filter location

Replace the oil filter o-rings using a small flathead screwdriver.oil filter

Press the new oil filter fully into the filter housing.


Install the oil filter housing back in the engine by hand. Next, torque the oil filter to 25Nm. install filter

Install the oil drain bolt by hand, then torque it to 30 Nm.torque oil drain  plug

Remove the engine oil cap and add 6.5 quarts of oil. Wait at least five minutes, then check the engine oil level. Add engine oil as needed to bring the engine oil level to the recommended range.REMOVE OIL CAP


Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.START ENINGE Check for oil leaks.

Recommended Oil Change Interval

  • Typical: Every 10,000 -12,500 miles

Torque Specifications

  • Oil drain bolt: 40Nm
  • Oil filter: 25 Nm
