1987 Mercedes 560SL STALLS as soon as it reaches operating temp of 80c. From a cold start. The car starts instantly and idles perfectly until the stall. After stalling it will not start again until completely cold.

Any suggestions appreciated

This could be the ECU issue. This expansion can separate a fine / broken circuit inside causing it to not be able to conduct the electric signal.

Have you checked for fuel, spark when the car gets hot? Any tests so far?

the radiator never gets hot before stalling.... upper hose is warm but radiator remains cool.Replaced all temp related sensors on top of engine. New distr cap & rotor, new plugs, new fuel pumps and fuel filter, new Crank Position sensor. Amazingly it will start every time after a few hours. If it's electrical it's intermittent. My indy is stumped...checked everything he knows to check.

Very strange, if it's not a problem with the radiator.

Is it a problem with a built-in sensor, which gives on sending a message that the car is too hot and stalls it?

still chasing the problem of stalling when reaching operating temp..it is losing spark to the distributor at this point...replaced the ignition coil, same issue.
Starts instantly cold, stalls at 80c...then no start until it sits for several hours.
