I want to use a obd 2 scanner reader on a obd1 mercedes Benz if it will work recommend one to me . I am a descent mechanic but my first time owning a mercedes Benz.  I bought a 38 pin adapter now I need a reader scanner that Will cover abs,transmission ,all sensors,pse and things of that nature. Help!

Hi there. The scanner that should work for OBD 1 would be carsoft mb  7 .4 multiplexer. This runs on windows laptop a a d is a relatively cheap scanner. 

 

Don't confuse it with iCarsoft, the handheld version. That one does not work for most 2000 and older versions.
