I have a 2004 nissan murano. Changed the valve body it will not shift out of first.

The transmission control unit may have a code stored which can put the transmission in emergency mode. Have the codes read , write them down then clear them.

Let us know if that fixes the problem.

If not, post the codes here.

I hooked a code reader to it and it only pulls 2 codes. p1148, and p1031

Those are generic codes and none of them is a transmission code. You need to get a scanner that can read trasnmission codes on that car or have a mechanic read the codes for you.

If you want to invest on a scanner yourself take  a look at Launch Creader VIII. Another option is Autel Maxidas DS708 but it is a lot more expensive and powerfull.

I know i called nissan and they said my valve body would have to be reprogrammed. But really don't trust dealerships because most of them are out fir money.
