Does the display work properly when you press various buttons except for the sound?

Also what were the codes?

The first two codes are in stored status and they can be ignored. You can use the clear function to erase them. The problem here is the U1B00 code which has current and stored status. This code is what causing the problem. Most likely one of the components is down and is breaking the optical ring. The code is generic and not Mercedes specific so it is hard to tell which component is the culprit.

Is it possible to get the car scanned with star diagnositc?

If not, you may want to go into each on the components that are part of the MOST ring and read for fault codes. That way you may be able to find out which one is the problem becasue there is a good chance it will either throw a code or not respond.

Let us know how it goes.

Those to components are not the same. You will need to bypass each component one by one in order to find out which one is the problem.

Your problem is with code U1B00. What in the world is that I don't know. It doesn't seem like a Mercedes specific code to me. Just erase the other two codes that are stored.
