Hello my car bmw e39 525 tds 1996, when im in second gear for example and i floor it to 4-5k rpms and change to 3rd gear the car wont go past 1-2k rpms even with my foot down the accelerator. The car if i keep it under 2k rpms goes well with no problem only when i rev it high and change gears this problem happens.

I would first check the transmission fluid level. If that is the ok, then read the fault codes from the DME and Gear module. There should be a fault in there that will give you some idea of what could be wrong.

Let us know what you find.

i will have to buy a obd reader then maybe the money i spend on buying one it woul be better just to take the car to a mechanic?
