How do you check the oil level on the dashboard on a 1999 E320 MB?

I would rather use the dipstick. Not sure if that year allows you to check the oil via the instrument cluster.

the key has to be on position 2(start) and then press up the arrow key (upper left button on the steering wheel) twice and it should be a message "Measuring Oil Level Now" and after that wait a couple of seconds and it should say "Oil level ok" but also to be sure, check for oil level on the dip stick.

And don't forget, works only when the engine is at operating temperature
