Question Details

I have a 2002 E320 and it seems that the valve body or conductor plate are deffective. I am planing to go ahead and replace the valve body. Does it need to be coded afterwards? I know on the 722.09 transmission the TCU is installed on the conductor plate but how about the 5 older 5 speed transmision. Any help is greatly apprecitaed.

On your car the TCU is not part of the valve body. You can replace the valve body with a new or used one without having to perform any coding.

Just confirmed with the Mercedes-Benz dealer. You don't need to code the new conductor plate. Just reset the transmission shift point which you can do with a scanner or by pressing and holding the gas pedal. Lookup for instructions online.

Correct, the valve body does not need to be coded or the conductor plate.
