07 ML350 .Two different hood switches installed even let switch hang with ziptie closing the switch manually . Any motion forward or backward (driving) and the red hood open warning and buzzer sounds until the vehicle comes to a stop. Ive even tried unplugging the switch completely no change . It's only a 2 wire switch and the switch is normally closed until the hood closes on the actuator to open the switch. Help! 


To bypass the switch you need to short the two wires. 

Your hood may need to be adjusted or the switch is either defective or it is bent or something. Like you said it is a simple switch. It can be tested with a multimeter
