My father has been working on our 2005 Mercedes Benz E320 Sedan.  Initially, there was an issue with the headlight, so he replaced the fuse box, and the lights began working.  However, the car, which was running just fine, did not start.

He replaced the new fuse box with the old, and the car still does not start.  The dashboard in the middle of the speedometer reads in Red: "BRAKE / Reduced Braking Power/Start Engine".  I have a picture of it, and have attached it to the image section below.

May someone please assist us with this issue?  Your assistance is truly appreciated.

Thank you,

Art Armendariz

I would double check the connection to that module that you replaced. It sounds like you are replacing the front SAM. It is very likely that the brake and no start issue are related to the replaced part.

Have you checked to make sure all the wire harnesses are connected?

Also, disconnect the battery for a few mintues and see if that helps.

My father would like to know if it would be safe to disconnect the starter, and try using a remote starter.

Thank you,
