Question Details

Mercedes C240 V6 petrol 2001 - Issue with ignition.
Intermittent Sparking noise (clicking) can be heard on the rhs of the engine block (facing car).
Replaced HT leads but noise can still be heard.
Also from tickover revs, engine can be sluggish to rev briefly.
No warning lights/engine management warnings.

Is it coming from the engine or the black fuel regulator next to the engine?  Because that is normal and there is nothing to worry about. 

If you have had the car for years, you should have always heard that noise. 

 

Unless this is a new car to you or it is a new noise.

Yes I believe it is coming from the black fuel regulator.
However, it has an intermittent issue of loss of power when accelerating from when at a standstill/tickover (basically v.sluggish).
