Dear sir the Mercedes C240 W203 (2002) Automatic Gear Selector is defective. If i look at the gear selector on my instrument cluster, it doesn’t display the current shifter position such as P, R, N, D.  I connect the car to the scanner and it note that the electronic selector module is fail. I dismantle it from the car and i need to repair it. I ask you if you can send me a repair manual for it. Thanks in advance for your cooperation. Best regards toni

Hi Toni,

It will need to be replaced and coded to the car. To date I do not know of anyone being able to fix their shifter. You may be the first person.

You can try these steps to overcome this problem

Pull over and turn the vehicle off. take the key out. then do not push the gas pedal or any other buttons of your vehicle. Wait 20 for seconds. At the end, start the car and drive to make sure if it is out of limp mode or not.

Your transmission should be back to normal but there may be an issues which is needed to be addressed.  Ignoring that issue will take car to lip mode quiet often. So never forget that first warning! You have to find out real issue.

It's better to communicate with professional mechanic to diagnose and  repair the defective parts of your vehicle.

That is a great idea to follow sir. Please let us know what the professional mechanic says after checking it.

Have you figured out the problem yet? If not, maybe you want to read the check engine codes and post them here
