Sorry English is not my mother language;

I am living in China, Mercedes Benz has Chinese version of E class which is longer and heavier.

I paid about USD77000 for E300L.

There are some cases of broken shock absorber being reported, I don't know the English term for the part which is broken, please see the pictures indicated with red circles.

What would you think cause this kind of damage?  Benz flawed design? Made in China quality for the parts? drivers' bad driving? bad road condition?

Mercedes benz E shock absorber broken picture

That's crazy and sad at the same time.

That is not driver's fault. Shocks should not break like that ever. Let alone at this mileage. This is a design flaw without a doubt.

Take the car to the dealer and have them fix it under warranty.

You may want to report it to the government as this should be a recall

thanks Mercedesmedic, do you have the picture of this shock absorber for Benz E 300 (not Chinese version) sold outside China?

Is this a car made by Beijing Benz?

If you say that there are other similar cases, than this is almost certainly a design flaw.

thanks for reply.

yes. it's made by Beijing Benz.

yes, there are other similar cases;

The design is from German Benz, so it's weird there is such design flaw.

what do you call the part which is broken in English? strut bottom? strut mount? fork?
