Our car stopped while driving along , checked the fuel system but is fine ,checked the spark, no spark but motor turning over good . Replaced the coils with new ones  and they have power to coil but no spark at plug when turning over. The central locking seems to be working fine as I know this can stop motor from starting but will turn over fine . Have checked the main fuses and all look to be good . does anybody know of anything else that could stop the spark from working I am running out of things to try. Please HELP.

Crankshaft position sensor comes to mind. Do you have a good scanner and have you pulled the codes yet??

No we don,t  have a scanner , but may be able to get some one around to check with scanner. Is there any way we can test Crankshaft sensor to see if it is operating. It,s funny that twice when I had the plug out checking for spark the car fired but only sparked once , then when I put the new coils in it did the same thing.

You can test the resistance but that isn't always a gurantee the sensor is working properly even if it checks out OK. I would not worry unless the Check Engine Light CEL is on with a code pointing to it.

Let us know what you find out when you read the codes.
