Question Details

I have a strange problem with a w210.

Key works on EIS and ESL works fine also.

Start the engine, but when taking out the key from EIS, the engine and dashboard still working. I have to disconnect battery to shut it off.

After remove key, the ESL works, but if i put it back on EIS/EZS the key don't turn anymore, just after disconnecting battery.

I read DTC's from EIS/EZS and give this code: B1156 control module electrical fault.

Any idea what could be the problem and how can I fix it?

You have a control module that is damaged. I had a similar problem on a R class where it would stay on even when you removed the key. It turned out to be an issue with the Keyless go module in the trunk that was damaged by water. It may not be the case for you, not sure if your car even has keyless go, but my point is that a defective module will cause these symptoms.

Did you use star diagnostisc to troulbeshoot this problem? If you did, were there any modules that did not respond?
