Looking at several used cars, I see some e350 or ml350 engines that fall into this suspected range for bad balancer shafts that are higher mileage between 100K - 160K. No record of any balancer shaft issues.
Does this mean that SOME M272 engines within that serial range may NOT have a bad part in them? Or did those people just get lucky?
Would it be unwise to buy one in that range with higher miles even if it pristine?
