Hi All

Please can some-one assist I did a diagnostic on the E-Class E240 W210 V6  because the EPC and ABS all came on the dash board cluster and steering angle sensor came up !

I first did a electrical clean on all the speed sensors steering angle sensor and fuse box  and tried the old one again and nothing re-set so I tried a used one from another Mercedes and that one also did not re-set still came up as Steering angle sensor !

So left me no choice but I bought a new one from Mercedes and fitted it in and still says steering angle sensor I took it to another mechanic for his diagnostic check thought mine could be faulty and his also came up like that? Steering Angle Sensor? He said I must trace the wires maybe a problem or off, I did do that and found nothing out of the ordinary!

Please any advise or pics to look some where els please guys seriously this is weird!

I had the same similar issue with a A-Class and also came up steering angle sensor and replaced new one and still did not re-set then I changed the Ball Joints cause it would only come on over a bumpy road and go into Limp and that was also a head ache!

Do you think or should I say is the ball joints and shocks also linked on the EPS system or sensors that could pick that up or what do you think please pretty desperate on this one

Can you please provide the code that you are getting? Keep in mind that you will need to carry out steering wheel calibration.

Also before installation did you find the middle of the clock Spring? If not, the new one could have snapped. See youcanic article on clocks print.

Have searched that post maybe I am not searching correctly but mostly BMW comes up on Clock Spring on the Youcanic,

My code that I received is C1140 -016 Sensor N49  Steering Angle Sensor ,
