My steering box seems to get hard when stopping to do a big turn and while reversing too  but feels free when driving straight and doing small corners. Whats can be the cause for this ?

How hard? Like there is no power steering at all, or like is weak?

Did this happen suddenly, or was your steering hard before?

When you turn the wheel when stationary, are there any whining noises from the engine bay?

Check the level of the PS fluid, and also check the color. It should be green (pentosin). Usual red (ATF) power steering fluid is not allowed for MB.

Very hard like theres No power steering at all. The only how i can get it to feel free when stationary is to let it roll foward a little and it will loosen up a little

ATF is semi transculent dark red or light brown fluid.

This is a probable cause of your problems.

Most MB need pentosin ps fluid (green fluid). ATF damages seals in steering rack.

If you buy a PS fluid from a dealer, you will certainly get a correct type.

However, from what I can see, you have a 'HS' fluid, which is red-brown.

Replacing this with a correct fluid, unfortunatelly, will not fix the problem.

It is highly possible that your power steering system is damaged, and you will need to replace or repair your steering rack and PS pump.

Also, whole PS system needs to be flushed.
