Greetings!  I just saw a post in the latest MB Medic newsletter that has me wanting to try a project:

This article and video are about the W164 chassis and I have a W163.  Does anyone know where I could find a kit (or do you have the part numbers/bearing manufacturer part #) that I could use on my ML320?  Trying to get all the drivetrain and suspension brought up to scratch on her and this seems like a sensible project at nearly 300K miles.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I am doing some ressearch online and I can't find any kits for safe for the W163. The differntials on the older ML were quite solid.

If you still want to rebuild it, your best bet would be the dealer. They should have most of the bearings and seals. Which I think it is worth it, becasue the bearings and seals are relatively cheap at the dealer. Believe it not.

If it was me, I would swap the differential with a used one from a ML with low miles.

Hope this helps. Let me know what you decide.
