I recently decided to upgrade my year 2001 w203 mercedes benz. So I bought a dashboard, glove box, armrest, AC control Unit, radio unti all from a year 2005 merces w203. My mech has installed all the other things except the ac control unit, radio unit and the other control unit  on top of the radio with the Hazard button and chair/doors/door controls. He says that the radio doesnt fit well and the wiring for the radio unit is different. He says that the radio needs a holder. I am not sure the radio needs a holder. I want to ask; Is there anything that can be done to fit the ac controller and radio unit on my car?

I am really desparate because if the three can be fitted, the car would look a pretty good upgrade. Please help.

If you had the single dim radio but now are installing the larger double din radio that came with the 2005 and newer C class, you will have problems. If I rember it correctly the connectors are not interchangable.

As far as the holder goes, your mechanic should be able to modify the trim to hold the new radio. That would not be your main problem.

Another problem that you may run into is that the car will need to be coded with star diagnostics. I hope you mechanic has that scanner.

Can you take a few pictures and post them here so that we can see exactly where the mechanic is stuck?

Yes the two radio connectors are not interchangeable. What is the way around this connector issue.

He is basically stuck at the point where he needs to insert the new radio (double din) plus the new ac controller plus the unti on top. Remember the new radio (allthough are technically separate) clip on both the ac controller and the hazard module. The image herre is the old one I have.Head Unit

This is the new radio and two other components am trying to put in.
