Hi, my drivers side indicator in the mirror has stopped working, fitted a new one as old one had water in it. The plug was slightly corroded I cleaned it and put some wd40 in but nothing any help would be appropriated, thanks Andy

When car is scanned with VCDS, there may be a fault code. A normal scanner sometimes only read powertrain codes but do not read anything else. Mirrors and Windows are controlled by the computer module residing beside the door. So it is most likely a broken wire in it. you should check with a VCDS for faults, It might tell you something like wiring or communication fault. Further troubleshooting can begin after that

Try to clean the corroded plug using electrical contact cleaner if nothing happen proceed to scan your vehicle to determine the possible causes.
