Hi, I have an e280 w210 2000 tiptronic. I spilt drink down the selector and have fitted another used one but fault is still there. The supplier told me the system nearly always needs to be reset. Can this be done with carsoft or equivalent?

The reason why it is still is in limp mode is because a hard code has been set. iCarsoft MB II can not clear the codes on W210 because it doesn't have a 38 pin connector required for the W210. A couple of scanners that would work are Carsoft 7.4 Multiplexer or Autel DS708. It may be worth to visit a shop that has a good scanner and pay them .5 hr labour to reset the codes. Good luck.
