I replaced the stop light switch and can hear the solenoid click so the infamous plastic part must be broken. I can’t get the selector out of Park despite repeated strong blows with a mallet and thus can’t remove the center console because of position of the stick. I could loosen the selector box enough to remove console but I can’t access the third screw because of the little pin over it. I pulled clip off the pin but it won't move. Does the selector have to be out of Park for the pin to move? If so, is there any other way to get it out of Park? Thanks in advance for any help.
