Describe all symptoms in detail.

Try to answer as many of the following questions as possible:I have a 2008 S550 it all of a sudden die out and will not retart unless I put starting fluid or fuel in the throttle body. I have replaced the fuel pump but not the fuel filter. I have also replace both batteries, is there anything else that I can do?

  • Do the symptoms happen when the vehicle is cold or warm?
  • Does the problem happen while you are driving?
  • Does the problem occur all the time or just once in a while?
  • When did you first notice it?
  • Are any other warning lights on?

The more details you prove the better.

When you get it running, how does it run? As normal, or rough? How does it drive, does it have any lack of power?

Also, do you have any 'check engine light' or 'service engine soon' indicators on the dash?

it only runs while i dump fuel in the throttle body and the service engine light is on. I replaced the crankshaft position sensor.

i replaced the crankshaft position sensor but i have'nt done a pressure test.

Pressure test is very simple. Takes 10 min but you need a gauge with Schrader valve.

Are you doing the work yourself?

I see you have replaced the fuel pump. But have you checked the fuses?

Fuses F117 and F128 in the trunk.

There is a relay in the same box. And one more in the engine bay.
