Question Details

I have a 2007 MDX and every 6 months or so the check transmission light comes on.  The transmission works great.  This has been going on for about 3 years.  What needs to be checked.

I would check the transmission fluid level. If the level is low, which most likly it will be, add the recommended transmission fluid to bring the level between the min and max mark. Do not overfill. You should drive the car for about 15 min before you measrue the transmission fluid level.

If the problem returns, let us know but I think this may take care of your problem.

The fluid level is correct.  What next?

You should read the trouble codes from the transmission control unit. You will need a scanner that can do that on Acuras. Launch Creader is a good one but I am sure there is others.

Thank you, I've decided to just let my Acura dealer worry with this problem...😊
