I have 2006 ml500 with 722.9 trans. vehicle only has 55k on it. Been running great. The other day it started to slip between 2nd and 3rd. Every thing else works great. Did a trans service with new fluid and filter but still have same problem. Any suggestions?

They are known to have problems with the valve body and conductor plate which mounts on top. The Transmission Control Unit is part of the conductor plate on the 7 speed.

What you can do is remove it and ship it for repair. There are many companies that offer repair service for that transmission.

You may want to take in into a shop or dealer before hand to verify the problem. You don't want to send the unit for repair if the problem is something else.
