My trunk lock on my 2007 Mercedes GL450 will not open using the key fob, the exterior switch near license plate, or the switch inside the vehicle.  It will only release manually from inside the vehicle.  I replaced the trunk lock actuator, but still have the same issue.  Is there a fuse and/or relay I should change?  Or could there be another issue?

Do you hear the liftgate motor working at all? I have an R class which has the same liftgate as your GL. At times the liftgate struggles to open but you can easily hear the motor engage.

If I use the manual trunk release, then hit the button, the lift gate motor will work just fine.  I do not hear the motor on the trunk lock actuator engaging when I hit any of the buttons.

Kindly check the wire for the angle recognition potentiometer may be pinched between mounting plate and hydraulic cylinder.

There are two common things that go bad when your trunk doesn’t open. First, is what you already replaced, the trunk lock. Second thing is the rear SAM. It’s located on right side of trunk are under the fuse box. Check it to make sure there is not any water on or in it. You will have to have a Mercedes diagnostic computer to program it. Hope that helps
