My 2006 CLK 350 is leaking oil from the valve cover area. My local shot noticed it and stated I needed new valve cover gaskets. I am remembering that this model V-6 has not valve cover gaskets but simply RTV. True ? is it that simple that I just scrape off the old material and just run a line of RTV ?

Regardless if it has gasket or rtv you will need to take off the valve cover. I am not sure if that is what you meant.

Yes you can scrape of rtv or even if it had gasket you could use high temperature rtv.

Yes, obviously take the valve cover off but there is no part number for a gasket on this model car. 2006 350-CLK V-6, the V-8 has one but not this motor. Thanks for confirming my thought

Did you complete this job? How did it go?

Would like to hear how it went.
