My Mercedes-Benz E320 is stuck in second gear. It won't go over 30 mph max. Any help is greatly apprecitead. There is a also a hard bang when I move the shifter in gear.

Limp mode can be caused due to many reasons. First I would check the fluid level. Next look at the instrument cluster to see if the PNDRD are on. Do you see D on the cluster when you move shifter to D. If you don't the shifteris damaged and needs to be replaced.
