What you will need

Procedure

  1. Open the hood. Pull the hood release under the dashboard and unlock the hood latch, then pull the hood up and secure it open using the hood support.Pulling the hood release of the Nissan Sentra.

  2. Remove the engine cover by pulling it up and out of the vehicle.Removing the engine cover of the Nissan Sentra.

  3. Locate the O2 sensor on the back of the engine near the firewall.The upstream O2 sensor of the Nissan Sentra.

     

  4. Disconnect the electrical connector of the O2 sensor by pressing the clip and pulling the connector out.Disconnecting the electrical connector of the Nissan Sentra.

     

     

  5. Loosen and remove the O2 sensor by using a 22mm O2 socket.Removing the oxygen sensor of the Nissan Sentra.

  6. Line up the new O2 sensor and tighten it using the O2 socket. Installing the new oxygen sensor of the Nissan Sentra.

     

  7. Connect the electrical connector of the O2 sensor by pushing it into its connection port.Connecting the electrical connector of the oxygen sensor.

     

  8. Line up the engine cover back to the vehicle and press it in to set it into place.Reinstalling the Engine cover of the Nissan Sentra.
