Symptoms
Typical symptoms of a dead Chevrolet battery include:
- Engine won't start
- The engine struggles to turn over
- You hear a click when you try to start your Chevy

- Portable jump box or
- Jumper Cables

Procedure
- Remove the metal key from the key fob and use it to unlock the driver's door.
- Remove the key from the ignition of both cars. To avoid electrical problems, turn off the ignition.
- Open the hood. Locate the hood release underneath the dash. Pull the lever until you hear the hood pop open. Next, you need to release the hood safety latch at the front of the hood.

Connect the red clamp to the positive (+) terminal.
- Connect the other red clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the car with a good battery.
Connect the black clamp to the negative (-) terminal of the car with a good battery.
- Lastly, connect the other black clamps to a strut tower bolt, ground point, or engine block of the car with a dead battery.
- Start the car with a good battery and let it idle.
- Start the engine. If the car doesn't start the first time, check the clamps to make sure they are making good contact.
If your Chevrolet refuses to start, let the jumper cables be connected for at least ten minutes and try again.
When you start your Chevy, there is a high chance that a warning message will show on the Driver Information Center (DIC). Keep your Chevrolet running for at least thirty minutes or more to reset these warning messages.
Battery Saver Active
If this message displays, the vehicle turns off some features such as heated seats and power features to allow the battery to charge.
Low Battery
A low battery warning may display on the instrument cluster when you first start the car.
