Learn how to check the coolant level, add coolant to a Kia vehicle. The pictures and video clips in this guide are from a 2015 Kia Sedona.

What you will need


  1. Park your Kia in a safe location and turn off the ignition.

  2. Allow the engine to cool down. It may take over thirty minutes for the engine coolant to cool down. 

  3. Pull hood latch release. Locate the hood release under the dashboard on the driver's side. Pull the lever until you hear the hood pop open. Next, release the hood safety latch at the front of the hood. 

  4. Locate the coolant reservoir (tank) in the engine bay on the passenger's side of the engine.

  5. Determine Current Coolant Level. Look at the coolant reservoir tank and note the low and high levels. If the level is below the minimum mark, you will need to add coolant. check low coolant level  2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 Kia Sedona Sedona

  6. Remove cap to add coolant. If the fluid level is low, we need to remove the cap to add more coolant.

  7. Add coolant. Adding engine coolant is a very easy and straightforward process.

Allow the engine to cool down, then follow this procedure.
