P0107 Fault Code Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor - Kia | Hyundai

P0107 on Kia and Hyundai vehicles means Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Low Input. This is a generic OBD-II diagnotic torulbe code that points to fa faulty manifold pressure sensor. 

Symptoms

• Engine llight stays ON 
• Service Engine Soon Warning Light
• Engine rough idle
• Engine hesitation on acceleration

Common Causes 

• Faulty Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor

• Manifold Absolute Pressure harness is open or shorted to ground

• Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor circuit has a poor electrical connection

• Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM, ECU)

What you will need

• Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor
• OBD-II Scanner
• Mechanic Toolset Metric
  • 10mm Socket

Procedure

1. Connect the OBD-II scanner into the OBD-II port located below the vehicle's dashboard.
2. Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to postion I. Dash ligts will turn on. Do not start the engine.

    

3. Go to the diagnostic menu on the scanner and select read codes.

    

   
4. Select stored codes and the scanner will show P0107 Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Circuit Low.

    

5. Turn off the ignition switch.
6. Open the hood. Pull the hood release under the dashboard.

    

7. Locate the hood latch on the vehicle's front and press the tab to the left to unlock it.

    

8. Pull the hood up and set the hood strut to keep the hood open.

    

9. Locate the manifold absolute pressure sensor on the right side of the engine intake manifold.

    

10. Disconnect the electrical connector of the MAP sensor by pressing the clip and pulling the connector out.

     

11. Remove the 10mm bolt holding the MAP sensor by turning the bolt counterclockwise using a 10mm socket.

     

12. Pull the manifold absolute pressure sensor out of the engine.

     

13. Line up the new manifold absolute pressor and press it in to set it into place.

     

14. Reinstall the 10mm bolt holding the MAP sensor.
15. Reconnect the electrical connector of the MAP sensor.
16. Get back inside the vehicle and turn the ignition switch to the accessories ON position.
17. Go to the diagnostic menu on the scanner and select erase codes.

     

18. Select yes and press the enter button on the scanner to erase the codes.

     

19. Start the vehicle and check if the check engine light is still on.
