Replacing the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor on an Acura is very easy and takes only 15 minutes. If your check engine light is on because of a faulty MAF sensor, not responding to the gas pedal or struggling to accelerate the MAF sensor may be the culprit.
Symptoms
Typical symptoms that your Acura mass airflow sensor is bad include checking engine light coming on, poor engine performance, a decrease in fuel economy, and poor throttle response.

Procedure

Open the hood of your ACURA. Pull the hood release, which is located under the dashboard on the driver's side.
- Locate the mass airflow sensor on the air intake, right next to the air filter housing. For example, here is the location of the mass airflow sensor on Acura TLX.
- Unplug the electrical connector from your ACURA mass airflow sensor.
- Remove MAF Sensor. Remove the two Philips screws, then pull the MAF sensor out of the housing.
- Remove the screws that hold the mass airflow sensor in place.
- Install the new MAF on your ACURA. Tighten the screws so that they are snug. Plug the electrical connector until it locks in place.
