What you will need
- 8mm socket wrench
- 10mm wrench
- T5 Battery 12 Volt
- Cold Cranking (CCA): 600 Amps or higher
Procedure
- Open the hood. If you need help with this step follow this procedure first.
- Locate the battery on the driver's side of the engine compartment, next to the brake fluid reservoir.
- Loosen the 10mm bolt on the front side of the battery tray using a 10mm nut driver or 10mm socket wrench. Bolt size may vary depending on model year.
- Pull the metal bracket and 10mm bolt out of the battery tray.
- Slide the battery forward to have access to the negative terminal of the battery.
- Loosen the 10mm bolts on the battery terminals starting with the negative.
- Pull the cables out from the battery posts.
- Carry the battery out of the vehicle.
- Clean any debris from the battery tray using a vacuum or a brush.
- Place the new battery on the battery tray.
- Connect the terminals of the battery and tighten the 10mm bolts. Connect positive first and negative last.
- Slide the battery back to its original position.
- Reinstall the metal plate and 10mm bolt back to the battery tray.
