Replace Car Battery on Ford Fusion 2013-2020

What you will need

• 8mm socket wrench
• 10mm wrench
• T5 Battery 12 Volt
  • Cold Cranking (CCA): 600  Amps or higher

Procedure

1. Open the hood. If you need help with this step follow this procedure first.
2. Locate the battery on the driver's side of the engine compartment, next to the brake fluid reservoir.

    

3. Loosen the 10mm bolt on the front side of the battery tray using a 10mm nut driver or 10mm socket wrench. Bolt size may vary depending on model year. 

    

4. Pull the metal bracket and 10mm bolt out of the battery tray.

    

5. Slide the battery forward to have access to the negative terminal of the battery.

    

6. Loosen the 10mm bolts on the battery terminals starting with the negative.  

    

7. Pull the cables out from the battery posts.

    

   
8. Carry the battery out of the vehicle.

    

9. Clean any debris from the battery tray using a vacuum or a brush.
10. Place the new battery on the battery tray.

     

11. Connect the terminals of the battery and tighten the 10mm bolts. Connect positive first and negative last. 

     

12. Slide the battery back to its original position.

     

13. Reinstall the metal plate and 10mm bolt back to the battery tray.
