Notes

  • Overheat safety is only effective for twenty hours after the vehicle has been awakened.
  • Waking the car is described as opening the door and sitting in the driver's seat.
  • Waking the car is also described as opening the AC screen or changing the AC settings in the app.
  • Charging the car overnight does not count as waking it up because only the charging-related components are left on.

Tesla cabin overheats protection uses batteries, leading to battery draining if the system does not go to sleep after twelve hours. If you are worried about battery drain, set it to fan-only. That shouldn't use a lot of power and is good for many parts of the car.
