Volkswagen Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is stamped in several locations all over the vehicle. The easiest way to find VW VIN is to look at the windshield's left lower corner; see the picture below.

Other locations where you will find VW VINs include driver's door frame, engine bay, near strut tower or fender, firewall, trunk floor, and license plate. 

Using a Volkswagen scanner, you can also retrieve a VW VIN from the engine control module and instrument cluster.

Open the driver's door and locate the VIN sticker. At the top of the VIN, it will say Vehicle Manufactured in Mexico, Germany, Canada, etc. If you don't have access to the vehicle or the VIN sticker is missing, you can find out where your Volkswagen was manufactured using our VIN decoder.
