Where is the VIN number on a BMW?

BMW Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) can be found printed in several locations on the vehicle.

A common location is on the frame on the driver's door. Open the driver's door, and you will see a black sticker with a barcode. Right below the barcode, you will have the VIN.

This is the location where you will find a BMW VIN without opening or even touching the car.

Another location where you will find a BMW VIN Number:

  • Stamped on the frame front passenger seat
  • Stamped on the trunk area

The BMW VIN is also listed in your insurance card, vehicle registration, title, or ownership card. To identify a VIN, remember that a valid VIN consists of exactly 17 letters and/or numbers.
