Procedure
- Push the engine start button once, if you have a key insert it and turn it with just one click. Before you turn your key or push the start button make sure that you are not stepping on the brake pedal.
- Once your cluster is already on, use the left and right arrows on the left side of your steering wheel to go to the trip menu. Then press the phone button and ok button on the steering wheel, hold them for five seconds and the Vehicle Data will come out in your cluster.
- Locate the engine code on your cluster. Before you find the engine code you must first choose the Vehicle data by pressing the ok button on the steering wheel. Then use up and down arrows on the left side of the steering wheel to find the engine code of your vehicle.
You can also find out which engine is installed on your Mercedes-Benz by either calling the dealer or decoding the VIN number.
