Mercedes-Benz Replace Engine Air Filter | S SL CL CLK | 320 430 500

What you will need

Air filter
Torx screwdriver

Procedure

Open the hood. Pull the hood release under the dashboard and go to the front of the vehicle. Then unlock the hood latch and pull the hood up.
Remove the front cover of the engine. Pull the front cover up to unlock the tabs on it and remove it by moving it backward.
Remove the hose connected to the air filter by simply pulling it out to where it is attached. There will be two hoses that need to be removed.
Remove the air filter housing out of the engine by pulling it up.
Once the air filter housing is removed, turn the housing on the opposite side and locate the T25 screws on the air filter housing.
Remove the T25 screws on both sides of the air filter housing. Use a Torx screwdriver to remove them; there will be a total of 8 T25 screws that must be removed.
Press on the center housing of the air filter and pull the cover to where the air filter lies.
Remove the old air filter by pulling it out and installing the new one by pushing it into its designed place.
Put the air filter back to the housing and reinstall the T25 screws.
Align the air filter housing to the rubber grommets on the engine and push the housing in to lock it to its place.
Reinstall the hose connected to the air filter.
Slide the front cover in and push it to lock on the engine.
